What is a Pelvic Health Physio?

A Pelvic Health Physio is someone who has completed additional training in issues relating to the bladder, bowel, uterus and pelvic floor.

We treat pelvic conditions across the lifespan, from pregnancy, post-partum, menopause or women in general.

We are trained to perform internal assessments of the muscles, fascia and organs in this area and provide advice and treatment for conditions such as incontinence, prolapse, or pelvic pain.

Pelvic Conditions

Urinary incontinence: involuntarily leaking urine.

Pelvic Pain: pain in your pelvic region.

Pelvic organ prolapse: ache or feeling like something is collapsing in your vagina.

Rectus diastasis: separation of your tummy muscles.

Pregnancy-related pain: any pain you didn't have before pregnancy.

Postnatal check up: Back, tummy and pelvic health check after baby is born.

Return to exercise: supporting your return to exercise safely.

How can Physiotherapy help?

  • Pelvic floor retraining

  • Soft tissue release and manual therapy

  • Bladder and bowel retraining

  • Strengthening, stretching and rehabilitation programs

  • Referral to a gynaecologist if necessary

About Me

Having 2 children myself I understand the importance of supportive pelvic health care throughout the lifespan.

I have been a physiotherapist for nearly 15years and worked in various clinical and management settings. Training as a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist has given me the tools to empower women to take control of their Pelvic Health. I am a member of Physiotherapy NZ (PNZ) and the special interest group: Pelvic, Men and Women's Health physiotherapy (PMWH).

I feel privileged to be working in this field and to have created WH BLOOM as a private space for Women to regain confidence managing their pelvic health.
